Why do we play these games?
Do we simply want to while away time?
For us, it really goes deeper than that.
We play so we may know ourselves better and, along the way, those around us.
How willful are we? How patient?
How excited or relaxed in moments of taking that right call?
And how easily can we turn loved ones into sworn nemeses?
Games are occasions to embrace a momentary struggle, believe in ourselves (and a little luck),
and experience that sweet thrill of victory of having spent time applying ourselves to our best.
All of us rely on mental muscles we’ve spent years honing without even knowing.
Playing is the slow transformative process that lets us be aware of the here and now.
It’s no wonder then, that play creates life’s greatest moments.
We do not play to while away time.
We play to celebrate our time.
We will never stop playing, and we hope you’ll be with us on this ride.
We are a family of board game enthusiasts.
Pratham works in edtech in India, implementing programs to improve the access to education for under privileged children in remote parts of the country.
Shreshth works as a data scientist for an e-commerce company. He loves working with numbers and may have gone a little overboard with building probability models and Monte Carlo simulations to ensure the game remains balanced all the time.
Sarkaar took us more than two years to make and we are so excited to bring it out to the world.
